Our Story- the
Aurora Community Beneficent Association is a non-governmental organization that was founded on 03/09/1996. The non-profit organization started its activities under the name Jardim Aurora and Adjacencies Beneficent Association, when Dona Terezinha, current president of the Association, joined other mothers with the purpose of meeting the needs of the Jardim Aurora neighborhood and promoting an improvement in the quality of life for families in the region, through socio-educational activities.
Due to the lack of opportunities and the exposure of children and teenagers to violence in the neighborhood, the Association was faced with the need to serve them and, as a result, built the first crèche in 2007, where it offers classes for children from zero. to four years.
Over the years, the Association has expanded its area of activity and started to promote classes and socio-educational activities for children and teenagers in periods, in addition to offering 16 professional courses for people over 16 years old.
The Entity opened two more offices, another crèche in 2012 and a CCA (Centre for Children and Adolescents) in 2014.
Currently, the NGO has 43 employees and volunteers living in the community, who work every day from 7 am to 5 pm.
